ACC Round Rock Campus Construction Progress

ACC Round Rock Campus Construction The land is being prepared for the new ACC Round Rock Campus on County Road 112. The entire site has been cleared of brush, weed trees and debris. The site is currently being rough graded to re-contour the site for the future parking lot and building locations. About half the site has been proof-rolled. This is the process by which heavy machinery compacts the topsoil to prepare a stable, dense sub-base which will receive paving for roads and parking lots. The City of Round Rock will give approval to begin pouring concrete in the formwork for the first floor support columns above the pier caps for all buildings. Concrete construction will begin to rise above grade. Utility trenching will also begin.

Alice Farmer, RRH student services and faculty representative, states that students inquire about construction updates every day. Construction can be viewed from the third floor of the RRHEC across the west field. “It is finally a reality…..we have been dreaming of this new campus for a long time, “ says Ms. Farmer. “We thank the citizens of Round Rock and the ACC District Board of Trustees for making this new campus possible for area students”, says Jan King, Williamson County Center Operations Manager….” It will provide a terrific economic benefit for the area.”

In other news...

And the winner of the “You Rock ACC” contest is Rosemary Burkes from Library Services who earned a total of 30 rocks. While we originally had only offered a first prize, the success of the fundraiser and the close results prompted us to offer a second prize. The second place winner is Alice Farmer at RRHEC who earned 28 rocks. Rosermary will receive a $100 gift certificate to HEB/Central Market and Alice will receive a $28 gift certificate to the new Salt Lick BBQ in Round Rock, TX.

Congratulations to Rosemary and Alice, and a Texas-sized THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this fundraiser by purchasing rocks.
