Transfer Planning Guides

College Transfer Credit Planning Guides

The Transfer Credit Planning Guides will help you determine which college credits transfer smoothly to the Texas State University. It is very important for you to begin following a TPG as soon as you select a program. This is very important to remember as you embark on any academic program, and also why academic advising plays such an important role.

It is vital as a transfer student for you to stay organized and on track while taking your academic programs. This will ensure a smooth transition to Texas State University, which can be done easily when the student keeps academic advising in mind along the way. If your goal is to earn an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree at the Round Rock Higher Education Center, (RRHEC) our academic advisors will act as your guide, ensuring your college transfer credits apply to your chosen degree.

Austin Community College Students:

** PSYCHOLOGY MAJORS:

If you have been pursuing the Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology at Austin Community College or Temple College, and are NOT interested in pursuing the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology with minor in Forensic Psychology we recommend you apply now. Follow the steps listed on our Getting Started page:

http://www.rrhec.txstate.edu/prospective/starting/more.html

Apply for Admission in order to take at least one course with Texas State here at the RRHEC this Summer I 2009 semester. This will ensure that you are able to continue pursuing the Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology with the Forensic Psychology minor.

If you have NOT completed any of the additional science course then you can complete the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology with minor in Forensic Psychology here. The main difference between these two options is that the BS required 9-17 additional hours of science courses, and the BA requires 3 hours of additional science and 6 additional hours of a Modern Language.

Students who are interested in completing the BA. We recommend you come in the OSC and meet with the Austin Community College Advisor. The ACC advisor is very familiar with the changes and can explain your options.
