Texas State offers the upper-level courses at the RRHEC, and ACC offers the lower-level courses. (Temple College also offers lower-level courses at its Taylor Center.) While you can attend classes on the RRHEC campus, you do not earn credit or degrees from the RRHEC itself, but rather from Texas State or ACC. If you are an ACC student, you have two options at the RRHEC: take the classes needed to earn a certificate or associate degree; or complete the required undergraduate course work needed to transfer to Texas State and earn a bachelor’s degree at the RRHEC. To be eligible to transfer to Texas State at the RRHEC, you must have junior standing, which means you have completed at least 60 transferable hours (45 hours for the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science (BAAS) Occupational Education Program degree). The 60 hours of transferable course work must be from the prescribed degree plans, which were created for the specific majors offered at the RRHEC. To take junior- and senior-level classes at the RRHEC, you must first be accepted by Texas State University-San Marcos. Once enrolled, you are a Texas State student, even though you attend classes at the RRHEC; you will earn your bachelor's degree from Texas State.
