With the new school year only a few months away, it’s time to kick-off a 2009-2010 School Supplies Drive. Last year, we collected school supplies for the children of Fort Hood Soldiers. This year, the Round Rock Higher Education has partnered with Round Rock ISD and Round Rock ISD - Partners in Education Foundation to support our neighboring elementary school, Caldwell Heights Elementary. This program will support kids who are in the free or reduced lunch category. This year they anticipate many more are going to fall into this category because of employment situations. The target for Caldwell Heights alone is about $2,200.
Did you know that Round Rock ISD:
• Currently covers more than 110 square miles of high tech manufacturing and urban retail centers, suburban
neighborhoods, and farm/ranch land in Northwest Austin, Cedar Park and Round Rock
• Educates more than 41,000 future members of our workforce
• Has a quarter of its students qualify for the Free and Reduced lunch program annually, nearly 11,000 children
Your gift, no matter what amount, will help! You can make a huge impact in our community with this partnership in one of the following ways:
The RRHEC will accept donations for this school supply drive until Friday, July 31st. Please contribute today and help all RRISD students start to the 2009-2010 school year off right. The RRHEC, Round Rock ISD and the Partners in Education Foundation is committed to providing that start - together, we can!
